Who is “Mr Muggi”?

David Trotter is “Mr Muggi” – the straight-talking, Scottish, ex-Army inventor who turns real-world problems into simple, rugged, sustainable solutions. Born in the Highlands, forged in the military, refined on the high seas. Or “I’m David, the bloke who got fed up spilling tea on a boat and decided to fix it – that’s how muggi was born.”

I'm a pragmatic inventor, a serial problem-solver: if it doesn’t work in real life (on a boat, in a wheelchair, in a care home), it doesn’t make the cut; I like to speak in plain English, not design jargon.
I think I'm adventurous but grounded. With my roots in the Scottish Highlands and the Army I love sailing and the outdoors. Being on the water is a very special place in my heart. “Adventure tested, everyday ready”! Both me and muggi.
I have a deep respect for independence and dignity – especially for older adults, disabled users, and carers.
